2006 Sept Oceania Karate Championships

NZ had a very successful Oceania karate tournament in New Caledonia. Fushin Ryu Karate students played a part in the success with 9 out of NZ's 19 gold medals. Chris Rahardja with individual gold medals in both Kata and Kumite, Amy Elson with two golds in individual kumite and one in team kumite, Brendon Running with gold in Junior kumite improving on the bronze in Fiji, Marina Monk gold in Kata, bronze in kumite and gold in Team kata with Rebecca and Nikki. Gold for the senior female team kata with Stephanie Rahardja also getting 3rd in Cadet Kata (great effort as she is still only a 6th kyu) Tamara winning Gold in the Open womens kumite.
