2008 Sept Oceania Championships all Kata Photos
Hosted by NZ with sensei Duane the tournament organiser. This marked the first time NZ topped the medals table since the tournaments inception in 1990.
Friday night the tournament started with all team events. Australia off to a great start winning 5 of the 6 kumite events with only the junior male division going to NZ led by Chris Rahardja Isaac Smith and Mitchell Teanaki.
NZ came back dominating the Kata events with one Aussie spectator musing that "NZ'ers may be able to dance but can they fight?" the answer was yes.
