The New Zealand headquarters are based in Browns Bay, Auckland. The New Zealand branch was formed in 1977 with Sensei Len Monk teaching at the Senior Citizens hall on Hinemoa Street in Birkenhead. We teach traditional karate under the karate master Sugihara Kenpu.

The New Zealand Chief Instructor Hanshi Len Monk  started teaching Karate in 1972 and has been active on the national scene having been on the Executive board of karate New Zealand for 25 years, 10 of those as National President. He has been national coach,  national selector and the Chairman of the Dan Grading and Technical council. Sensei Monk was also the longest serving member on the WKF Technical Council , over 20 years.

Class sizes are limited and separated by grade and age as we feel this gives the student the best learning environment.

As well as traditional karate classes we also have specialised classes for sport karate.
